About Metro
Metro Club is a full-service gym in North Albuquerque, on the North I-25 corridor near San Mateo and McLeod. Whether you live in Del Norte, Montgomery Park, Quigley Park, Stardust Skies Park, Jefferson Commons, or Academy Acres North, Metro is a gym near you with a pool, sauna, steam room, and hot tub.
Metro opened in 1988 as our first freestanding club, starting inside the former “II Bright Beginnings II” nursery school near Spain and Eubank. Around 1992, it moved to San Mateo and McLeod, where it has thrived ever since. The building also housed our corporate office before it moved to Mountain Run Plaza.

Omar Vigil
Omar Vigil is a General Manager at Defined Fitness who brings a people-first approach to leadership and a genuine passion for serving others. During his four years with Defined Fitness, Omar has grown as a leader while helping develop team members into confident leaders of their own. He believes success means building a team and club culture that operates efficiently, delivers results, and thrives even when he isn’t present. Known for his empathetic, selfless, and determined leadership style, Omar is committed to creating a positive experience for both members and staff. His personal fitness philosophy is simple: “Training to grow into my clothes.”
